Edward Vollrath (b. June 28, 1858, Bucyrus, Ohio-d. Jan. 21, 1931), Brigadier General in the U.S. Army, graduated from university and was then admitted to the Ohio bar in 1885. He enlisted as a private in the 8th Ohio Infantry and later served in Cuba during the Spanish-American War and at the Mexican border. Robert Alexander (b. Oct. 17, 1863, Md.-d. Aug. 26, 1941, Calif.), U.S. Army officer, received his commission as 2nd lieutenant in the 7th Infantry on December 17, 1889. He advanced through the ranks to brigadier general on Feb. 9, 1918, serving as Inspector General of the Line of Communications, A.E.F., in France, from November 1917 to February 1918, among other posts.
